Mortal remains of martyr, T. Alex Lalminlun laid to rest with honour CHURACHANDPUR | Apr 4 The mortals remains of (L) T. Alex Lalminlun who sacrificed his life for the country near LOC were laid to rest at his native village of Tuaitengphai today which was about 5 km from Lamka town. The funereal program was attended by DC and SP of Churachandpur and all ranks and files of Borders Security force (BSF) of Manipur and others top leaders from the Zou community and others in honour Alex who sacrificed his life for the country on the April 1. He stood his ground against the ceasefire violations by Pakistan at LOC in J and K. The funeral program was organised by the BSF (STC) located at Mualkoi , Ccpur which provided all necessary infrastructure , man power so that the Martyr’s body may be laid to his grave at the Tuaitengphai village cemetery. Chief minister, Biren Singh sent a condolence message for the martyr saying that he deeply mourns the death of late, L. Alex Lalminlun due to ceasefire violation by Pakistan. “We are proud of him who sacrificed his life in the service of the nation and his supreme sacrifice will not be forgotten nor will not go in vain,” said CM in his message. It further said that he is with the family members on their irreplaceable loss and expressed his prayers that may God give them strength to face the hardships. The DC, Shyam Lal Poonia said that the district administration express its deepest condolence and mourned the departing of a national who gave his life for mother India. “Let us relish the dream of Late Alex to sacrifice and bring peace and harmony in the district and uphold Indian constitution,” he said. The DC said that the District administration is standing to help the family to extend all possible help that may be needed. Senior SP, Mr Kabib K IPS said, “It is a sad day for all us as the one we love is no more, a he had sacrificed his life for the country, such is his valour that he was born in the most eastern part of India and sacrificed his life in the most Northern part of the India and his name will never be forgotten.” He is a true national hero of the nation who gave his life in a battle like situation and the village can take pride in the fact that he was son of their village and district, he said. In his honour, the SP shouted three slogan, “Bharat mata ki jai, BSF ki Jai and Alex Lalminllun ki Jai while giving highest respect from the district police. The IG of BSF Mr. Indra Kumar Mehta said that the sacrifice of late T Alex Lalminlun will never be forgotten and the way he display courage and sacrifice will be recorded in the anal of BSF history. “May God comfort the wife of the brave hard and his family and also the Zou community from the hero belong,” he said. The IG told the family members that any problem in matter of paperwork ,money matters etc the BSF (STD) will always be available for any help for late L. Alex Lalminlun. He was killed on the 1st of April at a cross border shelling in J &K. A friend who used to be with him in the battalion said that after the suicide attack on CRPF jawan at Pulwama, it has been a war like situation in the state where Late Aex was commanding the Forwards Defended Locality , which was the last post near LOC , and was co coordinating retaliatory fire where a bomb exploded near his post and the splinter hit him near his armpit. He was alone and the nearest post was 40 metres which is the signal centre where he rushed to the sport though injured. He was showing courage with no fear. The evacuation process was going on but the helipad could not be used due to shelling and the helicopter hovered for more than 25 minutes and later, he was shifted to Udaipur ,army northern command hospital where he was declare dead. The dead body of the martyr was accompanied by Sub major Anup Kumar of 168 bn of BSF who gave out immediate relief fund to his widow, Ruthy Khollalngai and his family including a son who is just 4 years who will may vividly or sadly remember the occasion where the BSF and the country had a gun salute to his late father including attendant by the whos and who of the district. The BSF personnel guarded the road leading to Tuaitengphai village with more than 300 personnel to show respect to the martyr and show their solidarity with their comrade. With the BSF sporting a motto ‘fighting till the death,’ the occasion was also attended by all leaders of District administration, BSF and civil organisation of the Zou Community. The hero of the country joined the BSF in 2011 as Sub Inspector and was promoted to Inspector in 2018 and served at Poonch district of J and K from 2018 where he attain martyrdom who was survived by his parents wife and a son, Jeremy Lammuuansang who is just 4 years old.
